Copyright & Image Rights
Last updated: September 16, 2026

Photographs are the whole of our business, so it is worth being plain about who owns what.
1. Your Images Stay Yours
You keep full ownership and copyright of every image you upload and of every edited file we return. Editing does not transfer any ownership to us. Nothing in this policy or our Terms gives us a claim over your work.
2. What You Allow Us To Do
By uploading an image you give us a limited licence to do the job — nothing more. Specifically, permission to:
- store the file on our systems and our storage provider;
- copy, open and alter it as needed to carry out the editing you asked for;
- show it to the members of our team assigned to your job;
- send the finished file back to you, and to anyone you share a link with.
This licence ends when the file is deleted from our systems.
3. We Do Not Use Your Photos To Advertise
We will not publish your images, put them on our website, post them on social media, or use them in a portfolio without asking you first and getting your agreement in writing. Silence is not agreement, and an approval for one image is not an approval for the rest.
4. What You Are Promising Us
When you upload an image you confirm that you own it or are authorised to have it edited, and that having us edit it will not infringe anyone else's rights — including the rights of the photographer, of any person shown, and of any brand or artwork visible in the frame.
If a claim is made against us because that was not true, you are responsible for it.
5. Files We Create
Where our edit involves an element we made ourselves — a background we built, a retouch drawn by hand — that element is delivered to you as part of the finished image and is yours to use without restriction. We keep no separate claim to it.
6. How Long We Keep Files
- Finished work is kept for 30 days after delivery so you can download it, unless you hold a storage plan that keeps it longer.
- Share links expire after 3 days; a new one can be generated at any time.
- You can ask us to delete your files sooner. Write to us and we will remove them, keeping only the invoice records the law requires us to keep.
7. Reporting an Infringement
If you believe an image on our platform infringes your copyright, email contactus@goeditphotos.com with:
- your name and contact details;
- identification of the work you say is infringed;
- where the material sits on our platform, so we can find it;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised;
- a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
We investigate promptly, remove material where the claim is made out, and tell the account holder what has happened so they can respond.
